chavez02.jpgHugo Chavez insists that King Juan Carlos Apologize for telling the fascist dictator to shut up.  The Venezualan President Dictator has shut down media outlets that don’t spout his socialist drivel. Did away with free elections and term limits making himself dictator for life. He continually calls other world leaders fascist and worse, yet demands an apology and threatens those who tell him to shut the hell up… the-11th-commandment.jpg

From Reuters

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez demanded on Tuesday Spain’s king apologize for telling him to shut up, warning that Spanish investments could suffer in its former colony because of the spat.

…”The king lost it,” Chavez said at a late-night political rally. “He should say, ‘… I, the king, confess, I was beside myself, I made a mistake.'”

At the weekend, King Juan Carlos told Chavez to shut up at a summit of leaders from Latin America and Iberia when the Venezuelan leftist interrupted a speech by Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.

…”Whatever has been privatized can be taken back, we can take it back,” Chavez said earlier at a news conference. “If the government of Spain or the state of Spain … start to generate a conflict, things are not going to go well.”

Chavez, more than most should be following the 11th Commandment… Otherwise the rest of the world will know that Pat Robertson was right.

Chavez taking over schools

President Hugo Chavez threatened on Monday to take over any private schools refusing to submit to the oversight of his socialist government, a move some Venezuelans fear will impose leftist ideology in the classroom.

All Venezuelan schools, both public and private, must submit to state inspectors enforcing the new educational system. Those that refuse will be closed and nationalized, Chavez said.

A new curriculum will be phased in during this school year, and new textbooks are being developed to help educate “the new citizen,” added Chavez’s brother and education minister Adan Chavez in their televised ceremony on the first day of classes.

Just what the curriculum will include and how it will be applied to all Venezuelan schools and universities remains unclear.

But one college-level syllabus obtained by The Associated Press shows some premedical students already have a recommended reading list including Karl Marx’s “Das Kapital” and Fidel Castro’s speeches, alongside traditional subjects like biology and chemistry.

Wonder how long it will be before the “Recommended reading” list will be part of the currriculum in Nicaragua and the other countries he has bought and paid for.

In Iraq:

Three insurgents were killed and 16 others, including a key “special groups” leader, were captured in separate operations in Iraq today.

In a separate set of coordinated operations in Baghdad, coalition forces killed one insurgent and captured an Iraqi terrorist with links to the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps Quds Forces along with 11 other suspected terrorists.

The operations targeted a senior special groups leader directly linked to several other high-ranking terrorists operating in and around Baghdad. Coalition forces detained six individuals at the first target area without incident and followed on with operations at two other sites where they captured the other individuals.

John McCain Losing support

Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox plans to resign as John McCain’s state mccain.jpgcampaign chairman, according to two top Republicans who asked not to be identified because Cox has not yet spoken with McCain in person.

State Republicans are set to choose their presidential favorites in a Jan. 15 primary. The two Republicans made the comments about Cox on Monday.

McCain won Michigan’s 2000 Republican presidential primary. But polls suggest Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney now are more popular in the state, and Fred Thompson is getting the same amount of support as McCain.

Personally I don’t see the Senator from Arizona staying in the race past the New Hampshire Primary..

“I wanna take those profits and I wanna put them into a strategic energy fund that will begin to fund alternative smart energy, alternative and technologies that will begin to actually move us toward the direction of independence.”

So how is this any difference than what Hugo Chavez is doing in Venezulea.

The wannabe Venezuelan dictator for life & poster child for Bush bashing socialist dirtbags everywhere makes headlines again by calling Condoleezza Rice his “little girl” and telling Gringo’s to go to hell.  Had an Elected Official from the US made similar remarks using racial epitaphs editorial pages all over the country would be demanding an official apology if not a resignation.  Not so for the socialist Chavez who has continually interfered in domestic elections throughout South and Central America from Brazil to Mexico.

Chavez is also spending sizable quantities of his petrodollars in bulking up Venezuela’s military, and the real reason for this is not to fight off a possible U.S. invasion like he claims. His anti-U.S. posturing basically serves two purposes: Appease his population by creating an external cause for his country’s misfortunes, rather than looking inward for the cause of their problems, and creating an excuse for bulking up militarily. If you think that Chavez is buying Russian planes, helicopters and guns like there is no tomorrow because he wants to fight off the “gringo” invaders, you are dead wrong. In my opinion, the real reason for his military buildup is to counteract Brazil’s and Argentina’s natural leadership role in the region. Or that matter, to apply pressure any country in the region that might oppose his Bolivarian revolution designs for the continent.

CARACAS (Reuters) –  Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on Sunday called the U.S. secretary of state “my little girl” and told Washington to “go to hell” after it questioned his plan to seek special powers to legislate by decree.

Chavez, a Cuba ally re-elected by a landslide in December, this month launched a campaign to consolidate power by nationalizing key industries, seeking expanded executive powers and pushing for unlimited presidential re-election.

A State Department spokesman on Friday described Chavez’s proposal to allow presidents to rule by decree as “a bit odd” in a democracy.

“That is a sacrosanct legal authority of Venezuela. Go to hell, gringos! Go home! Go home!” Chavez said during his weekly Sunday broadcast. “We’re free here, and every day we’ll be more free.”

From News Day

North Korea has offered Russia exclusive rights to its natural uranium deposits in exchange for support at the stalled talks on Pyongyang’s nuclear ambitions, a newspaper reported Sunday.

The two countries have been in talks since 2002 on a deal for Russia to import uranium, which it wants to enrich and sell as nuclear fuel to China and Vietnam, according to a report in the regional daily, Tokyo Shimbun, citing unnamed Russian officials.

North Korea recently offered Russia exclusive rights to the uranium in exchange for open support at the six-party talks on the North’s nuclear program, which have stalled since last year, the report stated.

Lil Kim it appears has taken a page from Hugo Chavez’s book and is trying to buy international support.

BOGOTA, Colombia — A reporter for news channel Telesur, majority owned by the Venezuelan government of President Hugo Chavez, was arrested in Bogota on charges of terrorism and rebellion, authorities said Monday.

Fredy Munoz, a Colombian national, was taken into custody at the capital’s airport after arriving on a flight from Caracas Sunday, said a statement by the Department of Administrative Security, or DAS, the Colombian equivalent of the FBI.

The arrest warrant was issued by a prosecutor on Nov. 10 for charges of terrorism and rebellion relating to a series of bombings along the Caribbean coast in 2002. No one was killed in the attacks. No further details were given.

The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, better known as the FARC, was blamed for a number of attacks across the coastline in 2002.

“This type of accusation undoubtedly surprises us. We think this is an attack against freedom of the press, against the right to information,” Andres Izarra, Telesur president, told The Associated Press in a telephone interview. “We are analyzing our legal options for the defense of Fredy Munoz’ rights”.

MANAGUA, Nicaragua (Reuters) – Daniel Ortega, a former Marxist revolutionary and U.S. Cold War enemy, headed toward a dramatic return to power in Nicaragua’s presidential election, early results showed on Monday.

With returns in from almost 15 percent of polling stations in Sunday’s election, the 60-year-old Ortega had just above the 40 percent mark that would seal a first-round win and give him back the presidency 16 years after he was voted out at the end of a brutal civil war against U.S.-backed Contra rebels.

To secure the election for his socialist comrade, Hugo Chavez provided subsidized oil to communities that supported Ortega… essentially buying votes and the election.
