Moving to new host

I finally decided to move Morning Coffee to a different host. I am still in the process of setting up, and the process is excruciatingly slow since I am far more technologically challenged than I am gifted.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama are trading jabs oddly enough over something neither have.. experience..

From Reuters

Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton sharpened her attacks on rival Barack Obama’s experience on Tuesday, a day after a poll showed her falling slightly behind him in Iowa.

Six weeks before Iowa kicks off the state-by-state battle for the Democratic nomination, Clinton questioned Obama’s claim that living in a foreign country as a youth helped shape his world view and contribute to his experience.

Obama’s Response

…a long resume doesn’t guarantee good judgment. A long resume says nothing about your character.”

and amazingly enough both are right… Obama’s experience in Indonesia provides him absolutely no insight about foreign Policy, and Clinton’s Character is is surronded by corruption, and manipulation… something not particularly beneficial in sound foreign policy though she will fit right in with the Hugo Chavez’s of the world.

Clinton has been dropping steadily in polls in New Hampshire and even lost her lead in Iowa, trading Jabs with Obama will likely not help her out much in those polls especially since she seems to be the one throwing the most mud.  She has already played the Gender card and continuing to do so will show that she brings absolutely nothing to the table.

Meanwhile Obama is bringing is some bigger guns to campaign for him.

Oprah Winfrey is poised to campaign for White House hopeful Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) in Iowa and New Hampshire, the Chicago Sun-Times has learned.

Obama made the disclosure while working a crowd at Central High School here, after delivering an education policy speech. A man, Ralph Hoagland, asked Obama—who was mingling and shaking hands– if Oprah was going to stump for Obama in New Hampshire.

“First she’s coming to Iowa,” Obama told Hoagland, who in 1963 was a co-founder of what is now the giant CVS pharmacy chain. “But we’ll talk about it. We’ll get her up here.”

At this rate Hillary could be home for Christmas…

I am sure that everyone remembers Elvira Arellano, the illegal Immigrant who took refuge in a Chicago church to avoid being deported. Well now she has started a Hunger Strike.

A Hunger Strike is not all she started either… Sanctuary Churches are surfacing all over the country, Oklahoma, Salem Oregon, &  Twin Falls Idaho for example.  Now I do respect that the various churches are attempting to protect members of their congregation, but they have to realize that they are enabling Drug smugglers, Human Smugglers, and violent gang members to continue their trade.

Speaking of Human Smugglers, this article in the Houston Chronicle is interesting.

TWIN FALLS, Idaho — U.S. Border Patrol agents have arrested about 100 people in the Magic Valley as part of a sting to round up illegal immigrants, officials said Tuesday.

The city was targeted after commercial bus employees told law-enforcement officials that they suspected illegal immigrants were buying large numbers of bus tickets, U.S. Border Patrol spokesman Alex Harrington said.

The region appeared to be a hub for human smuggling, Harrington said, with legal residents buying as many as 10 bus tickets at a time to be used by illegal immigrants.

“About 20 percent of the people we apprehended actually were from two vans — both with Oregon plates —

Maybe they were in Twin Falls from Salem on a church outing….

Des Moins to become a sancturary city?

According to this article in the Des Moins Register it is certainly a Possibility

A proposal to prohibit local law enforcement officials from conducting raids on illegal immigrants in Des Moines was presented to at least one City Council member recently.

Councilwoman Christine Hensley said Sunday that she spoke about six weeks ago with representatives of two immigration-rights groups that presented a plan that would block local city departments – including the police – from conducting raids on immigrants or inquiring about a person’s immigration status.

Aspects of the proposal, brought up Sunday at an immigration forum, are similar to a national trend of “sanctuary cities.”

It might be interesting to see how many different positions Hillary Clinton takes on this proposal. But then again will any Journalist or Debate moderator have the courage to ask the question? God knows it is not among the questions she is going to plant.

In Arizona However a different type of law is soon to take effect, and it is already having an impact.

From The Arizona Republic

Hundreds, perhaps thousands, of undocumented workers have been fired as a result of Arizona businesses reviewing the work-eligibility forms of their employees as the state’s new employer-sanctions law draws near.

The fired workers couldn’t provide missing information uncovered during the reviews or confessed to being in the country illegally, say attorneys involved in the reviews.

The number of firings could grow significantly once the law goes into effect Jan. 1 as employers scramble to make sure they are in compliance. Under the law, repeat violators will lose their business licenses.

The real solution in solving America’s Illegal Immigration problem is not going to be found in building fences, high tech ID’s, the Various Shamnesty provisions or in worker programs.  The real solution is not even America’s to solve, but one for the Mexican government to accomplish. When the Mexican economy can offer its citizens the oppertunity to earn a decent wage and provide a better future for their children, we won’t have thousands attempting to cross deserts to work in a foreign country for a paltry wage.  Mexico is never going to offer that kind of opportunity however, as long as the rampant corruption at all levels of Mexican politics is present, and as long as they maintain the failed socialist economic policies that given us this problem to begin with.

Bridget Johnson has an excellent article on Pajama’s Media that I highly recommend. Below is an excerpt from that article.

Between treating Central American migrants like dirt and then blaming the U.S. for violating illegal immigrants rights, Mexico’s leaders need to summon enough introspection to realize what their country can be, and then summon enough courage to take the painful steps needed to get there.

Unfortunately the staff doesn’t get much in the way of tips…

chavez02.jpgHugo Chavez insists that King Juan Carlos Apologize for telling the fascist dictator to shut up.  The Venezualan President Dictator has shut down media outlets that don’t spout his socialist drivel. Did away with free elections and term limits making himself dictator for life. He continually calls other world leaders fascist and worse, yet demands an apology and threatens those who tell him to shut the hell up… the-11th-commandment.jpg

From Reuters

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez demanded on Tuesday Spain’s king apologize for telling him to shut up, warning that Spanish investments could suffer in its former colony because of the spat.

…”The king lost it,” Chavez said at a late-night political rally. “He should say, ‘… I, the king, confess, I was beside myself, I made a mistake.'”

At the weekend, King Juan Carlos told Chavez to shut up at a summit of leaders from Latin America and Iberia when the Venezuelan leftist interrupted a speech by Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.

…”Whatever has been privatized can be taken back, we can take it back,” Chavez said earlier at a news conference. “If the government of Spain or the state of Spain … start to generate a conflict, things are not going to go well.”

Chavez, more than most should be following the 11th Commandment… Otherwise the rest of the world will know that Pat Robertson was right.

Iran is still active in supporting terrorism and insurgents in Iraq… Like anyone expected otherwise…

The quantity of Iranian bomb-making components being found in Iraq is increasing despite a fall in attacks and 20 Iranian-trained agents are still operating south of Baghdad, a top U.S. general said on Sunday.

Extensive Iranian influence in Iraq remained evident, said Major-General Rick Lynch, despite signs of a possible easing of tensions between Washington and Tehran over security in Iraq.

Lynch said his troops were chasing 20 “targets” he identified as Iraqi Shi’ites who were agents for the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps’s (IRGC) elite Qods Force.

“They were trained in Iran and they’re conducting operations in our battle space,” Lynch told reporters. “They’re Iraqis but they’re IRGC surrogates and they’re still out there.”

Lynch said in August that military intelligence suggested there were about 50 IRGC troops in southern Iraq training Shi’ite militias in the use of mortars and rockets.

Despite Progress in Iraq, Pelosi & Company still intend to keep the surrender option on the table.  Below are some of the Postitive elements in a USA Today article.

  • Rocket and mortar attacks in Iraq have decreased to their lowest levels in more than 21 months.
  • terrorist acts including car bombings and other spectacular, al-Qaeda-style attacks dropped by 77% in the capital.
  • Associated Press figures show a sharp drop in the number of U.S. and Iraqi deaths across the country in the past few months.

And some Recent comments from Pelosi and John “Cut-N-Run” Murtha from this AP article.

It’s a war without end, There is no light at the end of the tunnel. We must reverse it.

Bush will have to accept some timetable on troop withdrawals if he wants the money. I don’t think you’ll see the House pass anything without restrictions.

One thing is certain, cutting off funds or placing an artificial timetable for withdrawal will definately reverse the trend. There will be an increase in violence, terrorism, and body counts, both Iraqi’s and Americans.

There has been a great deal of recent progress made in Iraq, now is the time to increase pressure on the terrorists and insurgents, and allow the political progress to further develop throughout Iraq.
