‘US to strike Iran’ if diplomacy fails

Intel official says Washington promoting Palestinian state to pay for Arab support.

A senior Palestinian intelligence official said that based on meetings with American diplomats he “understood” the US plans to target Iran’s suspected nuclear installations in two to three months if negotiations with Tehran don’t generate a major breakthrough.

The official, speaking to WND yesterday on condition of anonymity, said according to what he “understood,” the US will “pay” for Arab support for a US strike against Iran by creating a temporary Palestinian state in the Gaza Strip and most of the West Bank by next summer.

Something needs to be done to prevent Iran from attaining Nuclear Weapons, but I don’t think anyone in the Administration is pushing for a military strike on Iranian Nuke Facilities… At least not yet.

As for the source… a Senior Palestinian Intelligence Official who chooses to remain Anonymous… Yeah Right….  I think it is far more likely that some Palestinians who’s power is based on the continued conflict with Israel is attempting to undermine any attempt to achieve a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

  1. America’s Assymetrical Hudna is under way. Check out what is a real option for the US. Don’t let all this Palestinian Statehood, buddying up with Carter and Clinton fool you. Iran’s regime is going down.

  2. The Director

Under the Clinton watch proliferation became widespread, and the Clinton administration gave money to nation states that diverted this aid money to proliferation programs- The Pakistanis became mass producers of this and so spread the technology throughout the region.
Because of the incompetence and lack of focus within the Clinton administration nation states like Iran have become proliferators such as today.
Hilary Clinton has not got the leadership attributes to lead a nation of 300 million let alone to command a Coalition in War and Peace. Can you imagine her standing reading of pretexted statements prepared for her by Bill? Exactly , I think that if she has to look at notes on the Middle East and on proliferation in conferences then that proves incontrovertibly that she has not got the gravitas or experience required in such a demanding role. She may be charming but those are not attributes to take America forward.
The United States may indeed take a unilateral position against Iran , they do so because of the failures of foreign policy that stems back to the Clinton Administration. That equally is a fact. In that given situation the United States would have to choose a Commander in Chief that not just represents the United States but equally can set an example of leadership in the free world. I do not believe that Hilary Clinton is such a candidate.
The incompetence’s of the Clinton Term in office cannot be repeated, and most of all if the Democrats want to compete in an election Campaign they have to offer a credible candidate that is able to lead by example in International commitments like serving UN resolutions and to having a defined foreign policy as well as a vision to leading the wealthiest nation on the Planet.

  3. I, myself, believe that Iran can be brought down diplomatically with the right kind of pressure, however it will only work if the threat of war is real and lurking in the background. It is foolish to take it off the table and the Dems it looks like are more afraid of George Bush than the Iranians. I don’t think that we should telegraph any move so if someone is saying diplomacy then military strike that is foolish, however in order for anything to work Iran must know that the military option is available. Here is how I see the opportunity to bring down Iran peacefully.

  4. Question. Would a nuclear Iran be intolerable? Is it impossible for the international community to accommodate a nuclear Iran?

And does Iran want nuclear weapons for their own sake (or to terrorize another population) or is there a reasonable strategic objective behind trying to obtain nuclear weapons?

  5. Jamelle… If you mean an Iran that uses nuclear power for energy then yes… If you mean an Iran that has Nuclear weapons then I certainly hope not.

As to why Iran wants nukes… I would say that it is obvious.. they want the ability to intimidate other nations in the region. It certainly is not for deter Israel…

Israel has likely had Nukes for several years, and never once have they threatened to use them. It likewise can not be to deter us either… there is this unwritten rule about nukes… if you have 100 of them you might be a threat… if you only have 1… you are a target.

    Thanks

    Darrell

  7. Mria;

Like I said in my post, I feel it is likely someone from Hamas who knows that should peace ever be achieved there, the terrorists will all be unemployed…

    thanks for you comment

I wonder why we don’t listen to the words that the Iranians say almost daily. “Death to America” “Death to Israel” All I know is, if some idiot that lives down the street from me is yelling “Death to Johnny” and is hiding a nuke program, I’m gonna wipe him or his ability to get nukes out in short order. The only thing worse than Iran getting nukes is not listening to their words of wiping Israel off the map. Mind-boggling.
