Happy Fourth of July

As we kick back to fire up the grills, drink some beer and watch fireworks, take a moment to remember the real reason to celebrate; that is, the men and women on the front lines that keep this nation safe.

The Soldier

It is the soldier, not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the soldier, not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the soldier, not the campus organizer,
who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.

It is the soldier, not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the soldier,
who salutes the flag,
who serves under the flag,
and whose coffin is draped by the flag,
who allows the protester to burn the flag.

  1. Nice post — love the picture. We shall never forget, and we’ll always give the last true measure of our thanks!

    Have a great holiday!

  2. Sometimes, we must sacrifice for someone else to get our own happiness, by being soldier, people can give their own biggest give to the others. Although they have died in the war, their name will always exist in the people’s soul.
