Ahmadamadingdong Strikes Again

Once again, Iran’s President has made a ridiculous statement regarding the destruction of Israel.  Reuters carries the story here.

“With God’s help, the countdown button for the destruction of the Zionist regime has been pushed by the hands of the children of Lebanon and Palestine,” Ahmadinejad said in a speech.

“By God’s will, we will witness the destruction of this regime in the near future,” he said. He did not elaborate.

Considering he also anticipates cleansing the earth through fire for the return of the twelfth Iman, we can only hope Iranian citizens will have the ability to get this lunatic out of power.

I continue to hope that the way to end this political parlaying with Iran is through its citizens.  I certainly hope I am not being naive.

What we need is Richard Nixon going to China to deal with Iran….

  2. “What we need is Richard Nixon going to China to deal with Iran…”
may be you meant Chamberlain not Nixon? and you see Israel in the role of Czechoslovakia in March 1939?

I think that we need to deal with Iran regarding what they are doing in Iraq. The question of Israel is farther away. Their ability to operate with impunity inside iraq is remarkable. I have been saying for at least a year that we are eventually going to be better buddies with the Sunnis then the shiites. The sunnis at least seem to be rational. I don’t think the majority of shiites in iraq will ever be rational, they are too emotionally attached to their religious leaders, and seem to be less well educated, and thus don’t seem to be able to think for themselves. The sunnis were the dominant culture for decades in that country for a reason, methinks.

I hope you are right about the changes in Iran coming from within… I am hoping that we can wait for that, because military action will only galvanize that country under their leaders.

Honestly who cares about Israel, what is it with this obsession with Israel’s security?, they made their bed now they must lie in it, if it’s Israel’s fait to fall then who are we to stand in its way, it’s a tiny country surrounded by it’s enemies.
How is the statement by the Iranian outlandish or rediculous? how is it any different from what U.S. presidents have said about its enemies, invoking God, God Bless America, with God’s help, good vs evil etc… in speeches? I believe you people are a bunch hypocrites who really have no clue about what you are talking about.
Americans believe they are on the side of “good” because we are a christian, God fearing nation? well if you know anything about your bible you will find that God says the only good vs evil in this universe is between the war of principalities, if you don’t know what that is, take comfort in knowing it has absolutely nothing to do with us, there is no such thing as good and evil in this world among men because man is stupid and if we are truely the masters of our destiny then we would all would go the way of the dinosaur, there is only bad vs worse and I am still trying to figure which government is the latter? because either way
    were screwed.

Roger, I think you are looking at it from a superficial perspective: invoking God in part of national dialog is one thing. Claiming that you have a divine and holy writ directly from God is an entirely different concept – and that is principally what Iran is doing. That is the essential difference between their mode of government and ours.

But you are right about one thing: “Democracy is the worst form of government except for all those others that have been tried”. – WINSTON CHURCHILL
