Muslim website deserves closer scrutiny
I am sure most have heard of the insulting E-mail reply that Sgt. Jason Hess received when he attempted to order some mats. Here is the Fox News report on it.
In his email, dated Jan. 16, 2007, he asked the Web-based company, registered to Faisal Khetani, an American Muslim of Pakistani descent:
“Do you ship to APO (military) addresses? I’m in the 1st Cavalry Division stationed in Iraq and we are trying to order some mats but we are looking for ships to APO first.”
On the same day, Hess received this reply:
We do not ship to APO addresses, and even if we did, we would NEVER ship to Iraq. If you were sensible, you and your troops would pull out of Iraq.
Khetani on Monday told FOX News that the person responsible for the email reply had been fired. The Web site, meanwhile, has been temporarily taken down.
Hess emailed that he has since found two mat suppliers willing to ship to an APO address in Iraq.
Now the story does not end there. Of course MSNBC picks up on the story and make an attempt to paint Khetani as a victim.
The response quickly circulated on the Internet and led to threats against the Muslim-owned business, including demands for a boycott.
Euphoric Reality did some further digging into Faisal Khetani as well as his business… digging that MSNBC and the rest of the media failed to do.
Here is a sample of they found:
Khetani has claimed to the media that Discount-Mats has ten employees – and they’ve accepted his claim at face value. They’ve also reported that the unnamed employee was fired, without verifying if there was an employee. Considering that his business is a home business based in his parents home I seriously doubt that he does have 10 employees.
There are no businesses with the name Discount Mats or Bargain Suppliers (or any variation thereof) registered in the state of Wisconsin. A search of the worker’s compensation database shows no company by those names either. It is not a legitimate business, nor does it have employees. Faisal Khetani is not telling the truth – that makes him suspect.
There is much more about Faisal Khetani as well as his business and associates that Heidi has taken the time to research and document. I encourage all to read the entire post.
