The Death Of Free Speech

So very typical of people who know their arguments do not hold up under scrutiny, to start throwing around the race card.

Cross posted from My Country – My View

So, so TRUE!! Let’s support our Minutemen.

I got this in an E-mail and had to post this.

Every time I turn around I am hearing the Minutemen being called a racist group.

I myself have been called a racist sooo many times.

Mainly by my fellow hispanic people. Well those of you that know me know how I feel about it, and how I feel when I am called such names. As for those of you that dont?

Well I am still posting call me what ever you want but I will not give up in this fight to save my country!!!!

Oh yeah, I copied this from the bottom but had to post it again.

There is a national treasure so dear to the American people that it sometimes requires our life, liberty and sacred honor to protect it. The center piece of our National Treasury of Rights is the freedom of speech, the very cornerstone of self governance that countless heroes have fought and died for to preserve.

The United States of America has been the beacon of freedom throughout the world, empowering people whether great or common, rich or poor, strong or weak, to speak up with confidence, expressing views and vocalizing their beliefs.

When priceless free speech is suppressed by force, threats of violence, or intimidation, then the cornerstone of our Constitution begins to crumble and eventually the entire foundation of our nation, long coveted as a nation governed under the rule of law, comes tumbling down.

When such a freedom is replaced with tyrannical bellowing and “mob rule”, then only the demons of disorder are allowed to speak and the voice of a nation is muted. It is my greatest fear that in the market place of ideas the voice of free Americans will be stifled by the disease of “politically correct paralysis”.

The abolition of freedom of speech carried out against The Minuteman Project speakers and Columbia University’s Republican Club at Lerner Hall on October 4 is but a symptom of a deeper national infection; an infection of complacency that numbs the American people into the belief that freedom, especially freedom of speech, is reserved only for the meanest thugs wielding the biggest clubs.

Ignoring blatant violations of this irrevocable right only sets a precedent, encouraging more of the same, what ever the venue may be, until all beacons of free speech are snuffed out, including print media, talk radio, television and the internet. The Minuteman Project will not allow our nation to fall into the hands of anarchist, criminal mentalities falsely posing as enlightened students at a formerly renowned institution of higher education.

October 4, 2006, the day free speech was put to death in New York City, will forever live in infamy in the annals of Columbia University and public opinion. Now it is up to our system of jurisprudence to determine the appropriate remedy necessary to cure Columbia University of its “politically correct paralysis”.
