Thousands of Palestinian Security Forces Join in Strike

From the New York Times

Thousands of Palestinian security force members, some firing in the air, marched on the Palestinian parliament building in Gaza City on Tuesday as they joined an expanding strike over wages the Hamas-led government has not paid.

Some health care workers also stopped work briefly on Tuesday, and most teachers have stayed away from their classrooms since schools reopened Saturday after the summer break. The security force members said they would return to work on Wednesday.

The strike is the most serious since Hamas took power in March, and appears motivated by both politics and economics.

Maybe they can summon Kofi Annan to Gaza to Mediate….

    Or, maybe, as a better alternative, Olmert could stop punishing the Palestinian people by un-freezing the PA’s accounts. Woud work better, wouldn’t it?

    On the other hand, had the Palestinians had the sense not to strap bombs to themselves then detonate themselves in crowded public places in Israel the PA’s accounts would not have been frozen. Also let’s not forget those rockets the Pali’s seemd to enjoy launching into Israel.

    Yeah, those Pali’s are the picture of innocence.

  3. Scribbles;

    There is something you obviously need to learn about democracy, that is living with the consequences… Palestinians elected a Terrorist Group to govern them… the Consequences are that Israel, the US as well as most of the civilized world are not going to fund terrorists like Hamas… Besides if the PA were really that desperate they could always cut the funding of Arafats decrepit widow’s lavish lifestyle..

    Have a nice day

  4. Boss;

    Thank you for your comment… you are right on the mark.
