Tony Blair to resign on May 31st 2007

I have no Idea if this report is accurate or of the credibility of the Daily Mail’s source on this. The US could not have had a better Ally in the War on Terror than Tony Blair and I firmly believe that Britain will remain just as staunch an Ally.

From the Daily Mail

Tony Blair has named May 31 next year as the date for his resignation. Downing Street let slip that he will announce his departure just weeks after his tenth anniversary as Premier, and walk out of Number 10 eight weeks later, on July 26.

The news came after Mr Blair received an unprecedented written ultimatum from a group of previously loyal young MPs, including a minister, a Whip and several parliamentary aides. A further 100 MPs threw their weight behind Labour ‘grandees’ who were poised to tell the Prime Minister he must give a date for his departure or face a leadership challenge.
