Campaign Update: November 1st
We have raised $ 38,849 towards our goal of $180,000 so far!!!! The Army Team is in the lead (for now) raising $11,233.00, follwed by the Airforce with $10,984.79, The Marines with $10,210.00 & Team Navy has raised $6,982.00. While we may be a bit behind at the moment we are just allowing the other branches a head start, to make things fair… If you have not contributed yet you can by clicking the Picture below…. all Donations are Tax Deductable!!
Project Valour-IT
(Voice-Activated Laptops for OUR Injured Troops)
In memory of SFC William V. Ziegenfuss
There are many Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines in Military hospitals like Walter Reed & Bethesda that need and would greatly appreciate your support. These are the servicemen & women who have sacrificed for this country and for each of us. They have given of themselves more than anyone could ever expect of them. I honestly can not think of anyone more deserving of your support. Project Valour-IT is one way you can give to those who have given so much of themselves for their country and for you.
You can contribute to Project Valour-IT at any time, however between now and Veterans Day the Millblogger community is holding a little inter-service rivalry. This competition is for bragging rights only, and the real winners in this will be those Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines who have made that sacrifice for us all. Most of the other Bloggers participating in this drive have a donate button in their sidebar.. Unfortunately WordPress.com has an issue with the Java Script involved… (either that or I am simply just not smart enough to figure it out) which is a very distinct possibility. Regardless you can go to the Soldiers Angels site and designate your donation to the branch of your choice there.
GO NAVY!!!!!
I should note that donating to a particular team does not mean that the donation will go to aid someone in that particular branch of service, remember for us this is just for bragging rights… Rather the money goes into one pot and distributed accordingly.
Soldiers’ Angels has been designated a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity by the IRS. Donations are tax-deductible and may be eligible for matching funds from donors’ employers (ask your employer).
All funds received go directly to our wounded troops; 100% of your donation to Project Valour-IT will be used to purchase the laptop that will provide independence and freedom to wounded Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines.
Donors may choose to sponsor a wounded soldier currently on the laptop waiting list. Learn more here.
Wounded military personnel can request a laptop through the sign-up form if they are recovering at home or in military hospitals, or through the Valour-IT/Soldiers’ Angels representatives if they are patients at the following medical centers:
Balboa Naval Hospital
Brooke Army Medical Center
Madigan Regional Medical Center
National Naval Medical Center (Bethesda Naval Hospital)
Naval Hospital, Camp Pendleton
Robert E. Bush Naval Hospital (29 Palms)
Walter Reed Army Medical Center
