Here is a look at some of the bills proposed by Congressional Democrats the last couple of years.. If Dems manage to capture a majority in the House or Senate this year, this is the Agenda they will likely pursue.
Department of Peace and Nonviolence Act H.R.3760
Establishes a Department of Peace and Nonviolence, which shall be headed by a Secretary of Peace and Nonviolence appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the Senate. Sets forth the mission of the Department, including to: (1) hold peace as an organizing principle; (2) endeavor to promote justice and democratic principles to expand human rights; and (3) develop policies that promote national and international conflict prevention, nonviolent intervention, mediation, peaceful resolution of conflict, and structured mediation of conflict.
Sponsored by Dennis Kucinich with 74 Co-Sponsors
Congressman Kucinich must think that the proper way of dealing with terrorists is to sit in a circle, hold hands and sing Kumbayah… Of course it will do nothing but provide easier targets for the terrorists…
Gas Stamps Act of 2005 HR 3712
The Secretary of Energy shall establish a program for the equitable allocation among the States of gas stamps for distribution to individuals eligible to receive food stamps who can demonstrate a need for gasoline. The Secretary, in coordination with the Secretary of Agriculture, shall, to the extent practicable, provide for the distribution of gas stamps under this section in conjunction with the distribution of food stamps. The program established under this section shall provide for the national distribution of not to exceed $330,000,000 in each of the first 3 months after the date of enactment of this Act.
And How do they plan on paying for this? By imposing more taxes on oil products and byproducts.
In General- In addition to any other tax imposed under this title, there is hereby imposed an excise tax on the sale in the United States of any crude oil, natural gas, or other taxable product a tax equal to the windfall profit on such sale.

Crack-Cocaine Equitable Sentencing Act of 2005 HR 2456
To amend the Controlled Substances Act and the Controlled Substances Import and Export Act to eliminate certain mandatory minimum penalties relating to crack cocaine offenses.
In all fairness this bill seeks to make the sentences related to Crack Cocaine the same as sentences related to other forms of Cocaine… I agree that they should be the same but I feel that increasing the sentences for the other forms of Cocaine to that of Crack is the way that this should be pursued.
This bill was Sponsored by Charles Rangle with 23 Co-Sponsors
Civic Participation and Rehabilitation Act of 2005 HR 1300
This bill could also be known as the convicted felon sufferage act as it seeks to restore the right to vote to those who have been convicted of felonies.
Introduced by John Conyers with 23 co-Sponsors
Medicare for All Act H.R.4683
Nationalized Healthcare making the Federal Government responsible for our healthcare.. This bill boasts that it guarantees high quality healthcare for everyone, in reality it provides increased bureaucracy, lower standards, and a lower quality health care system.
Introduced by John Dingle with 18 Co-Sponsors
End the War in Iraq Act of 2005 HR 4232
Also could be known as the we surrender to terror act
This bill seeks to cut off funding for our troops deployed to Iraq fighting the War on Terror. This bill cuts off funding and supplies to the very people who are defending us against terrorists…
Introduced by James McGovern with 18 Co-Sponsors
You could also look at the 8 Constitutional Ammendments proposed by Jessee Jackson Jr.. All of which are more steps towards a Soviet style managed economy… Note how well that worked out…
It is 15 Days until the Mid-Term election… Dems according to polls and the media, are way ahead and stand to capture both the House and Senate.. (Personally I don’t buy it). It is important to note that the Democrat’s campaign platform has been nothing but “A New Direction” They offer nothing of what that direction is or where it might lead. The best indication of what direction they wish to pursue is to look at the recent legislation they have proposed… to me it looks like they want to establish the Democratic Socialist Republic of America… Who knows maybe they will even call it North Cuba.

I see you are convinced that the terrorists are coming to get us, and that Iraq seems to convince them otherwise.

Eric and Rational & Educated… thank you for your comments..
It is too bad you can’t discuss issues based on substance… Like typical left wingers you have outsourced your opinion development to Michael Moore and Moveon.org
Have a nice day

Don’t you just love when they have to put Rational & Educated in their nicknames?
No matter how you try to gloss it up there sweetheart, you’re definitely a by-product of the liberal agenda.
Too bad you can’t think for yourself.
Now why don’t you tell me, what are the grounds for Treason? Being a naval officer meeting with enemy combatants?
Gotta give you one thing though, you people are really good for a laugh!
