The title of this post is the Corner Stone of American Justice. It doesn't matter if it is Michael Jackson, O.J. Simpson, one of Seven recently arrested in Miami on charges on charges of conspiring with al-Qaeda, or a US Marine assigned to Kilo Company, 3rd Batallion, 1st Marine regiment.  Everyone under U.S. Jurisdiction is innocent until proven guilty.

Here is some of the coverage and questions that Time asks about those arrested in Miami on charges of conspiring with Al-Qaeda.

The title of the Article: The Miami Seven: how Serious was the Threat?

Here are some of the questions/statements in Bold throughout the article.

Was this an al-Qaeda-linked plot, or were these men simply wannabes?

Were they behaving as professional terrorists?

Can amateurs and wannabes pose a real terror threat?

Was this really a plot?

Here is some of the coverage of Haditha;

Why Are U.S. Troops Snapping? From the headline it appears that Time has concluded that US Troops are guilty. Another article on their Haditha coverage was entitled "The Shame of Kilo Company", and finally "Did Marines Kill in Cold Blood?".

It is sad really that those who wear this nations uniform are not given by the Media or members of Congress the same presumption of "innocence until proven guilty" that the seven Wannabes in South Florida are.

    Excellent point! I find it amazing that those that have no clue of walking in the boots of those on the ground in battle can categorically judge guilt.

    Split second decisions are made in the heat of battle. There’s really not time to ascertain whether the car that won’t stop at a checkpoint is friend or foe. But somehow those that have no clue, have the perfect foresight to judge.

    My suggestion to these types of individuals is this; stand in the middle of 13 stories of burning, twisted steel and tell me how you cannot believe this is indeed a war brought on by a funder of terrorism – whether OBL or Saddam.

    And then tell me – since none of you have had to stand in the wreckage of what once was your daily life since 9/11/01 – HOW YOU CANNOT THANK A SOLDIER and give that soldier the same chance to present facts in a court of law, with a jury of peers, to determine what the proper judgment should be?

    God Bless the Military!
