Murtha Wants to be House Majority Leader

Rep. John Murtha, an outspoken opponent of the war in Iraq, announced Friday that he would run for majority leader if the Democrats take over the House in the fall elections.

"If we prevail as I hope and know we will, and return to the majority this next Congress, I have decided to run for the open seat of the majority leader," Murtha said in a letter to his Democratic colleagues.

I have made several comments about Murtha and his criticism of our troops in Iraq before. here here here here & here Throughout all my criticism of Murtha's comments I have maintained that they were designed to score political points for himself and his party at the expense of the US Military and specifically those serving in Iraq. Anyone who would seek to advance their political career at the expense of those proudly wearing our nations uniform is a disgrace.  Jack Murtha clearly places his short term political gains ahead our national security on his priority list. He is a disgrace to those he represents in congress and a disgrace to all who have worn our nations uniform past and present.
