While I will be the first to say that we as a nation need a comprehensive immigration reform bill, this one is not it.
My first objection is that the border security and the immigration issues are lumped together as if they are the same. They are not.
Both issues are important, both deserve full discussion and debate. Neither issue gets fully addressed by this bill. The bottom line is that Border Security needs addressed first and foremost. Being a national security issue, addressing it must be our primary concern. Guest worker programs, paths for legal residency for illegal alliens already here, and increased sanctions against employers of illegal alliens can all be Studied, discussed and debated afterward.
