Guards and Prisoners Clash at Club Gitmo

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – Prisoners wielding improvised weapons clashed with guards trying to stop a detainee from committing suicide at the U.S. prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, the military said Friday.

I am sure that some UN Human Rights Commission will reference this incident as to why Gitmo should be closesd… Of course we could have let the prisoner kill himself, and I am sure none would suffer a great loss if we had. Note that the attempted suicide took place the day before 15 Prisoners were to be transferred to Saudi Arabian custody. I am sure that the treatment at Gitmo is far better than what will be recieved in Saudi Arabia. perhaps some that were to be transferred didn't want to go.

The UN Criticism came in an 11 Page report from investigators who were offered but refused the oppertunity to inspect the facilities and procedures at Gitmo. Sounds about par for the course for an organization that includes some of the most brutal regimes in history in its Human Rights Council..
